Early Life and Education
Robert Thomas was raised in a working-class Texas family that taught him the value of hard work, honesty, and service to others. He earned his undergraduate degree from Prairie View A&M University and continued his studies at the University of Houston, where he built a strong foundation in science and engineering. These early experiences shaped his belief that opportunity and education should be within reach for every family. He is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., a brotherhood committed to culture, service, and scholarship. He is honored to share this bond with influential leaders in our community — including the Sheriff of Fort Bend County, who is also a Sigma.
NASA Career Highlights
Robert went on to serve more than 30 years at NASA, where he played a leadership role in high-stakes missions that advanced America’s space program. As a systems engineer and project manager, he developed innovative solutions to complex challenges, ensuring safety, precision, and success in some of the nation’s most critical projects. His career at NASA reflects his lifelong commitment to problem-solving, teamwork, and progress.
